My Story

I have been there. 

I raised two kids of my own, while helping shape the lives of hundreds more through my role as a teacher and school administrator. Prior to starting Hersh Parent Coaching, I shepherded Austin Jewish Academy as its Head of School for seven years, following my tenure as a teacher and middle-school principal at Los Angeles’ Pressman Academy.  

Working in education, I saw, and lived, the struggles parents face firsthand. I learned a lot. But I wanted more. In 2019, I enrolled in the Parent Coaching Institute, and obtained my Parent Coach Certification® after a rigorous, one-year program that helped me sharpen my skills and exposed me to cutting-edge thinking in this important work.

Social and emotional well-being have been at the heart of my life’s work, which also includes certifications in the Ojai Foundation’s Council program and Conscious Discipline.
